Choc Chip Cookie Mix In A Jar

A prettily layered jar that becomes two dozen chewy choc chip cookies with just butter, an egg and vanilla. Makes a lovely last-minute gift.

  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 150 gram brown sugar
  • 100 gram caster sugar
  • 200 gram dark chocolate chips
  • 40 gram desiccated coconut

Instructions

  1. 1Whisk the plain flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt together, then tip into the base of a 1 litre jar and press flat.
  2. 2Add the brown sugar in a layer, then the caster sugar, pressing each one flat with the back of a spoon.
  3. 3Layer the desiccated coconut over the sugar, then finish with the chocolate chips.
  4. 4Seal the jar and tie on a label with the date and the to-use directions.
