Slow Cooker Honey Soy Chicken Drumsticks

Sticky, savoury-sweet drumsticks that practically cook themselves. Big batch for hungry families, with sauce made for spooning over rice.
Ingredients
- 1.5 kilogram chicken drumsticks
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 4 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- 3 piece spring onion, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- 1Whisk the soy sauce, honey, tomato sauce, garlic, ginger and sesame oil in a jug.
- 2Place the drumsticks in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over, turning to coat.
- 3Put the lid on and cook on LOW for 5 hours until the chicken is tender.
- 4Lift the drumsticks onto a serving plate and cover with foil.
- 5Mix the cornflour with 2 tablespoons of cold water, stir it into the sauce and cook on HIGH for 10 minutes until glossy.
- 6Pour the sauce over the chicken and top with spring onion and sesame seeds.
- 7Serve with rice and steamed greens. Freeze cooled chicken in its sauce for up to 2 months; thaw overnight and reheat covered in a 160°C oven for 25 minutes.
