Smoky Barbecue Dry Rub Jar

A sweet, smoky rub in a jar for chicken, pork and vegetables on the barbecue. Mix it once and every cook-up gets easier.
Ingredients
- 150 gram brown sugar
- 4 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
- 2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- 1Rub the brown sugar between your fingers in a large bowl to break up all the lumps.
- 2Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and salt.
- 3Add the cumin, mustard powder and black pepper, then whisk until deep red and even.
- 4Spoon into a 500 millilitre jar and label with the date.
- 5TO USE: rub 2 tablespoons of mix with 1 tablespoon oil over 500 g chicken thighs, pork or vegetables. Rest 20 minutes, then barbecue or bake at 200°C until cooked through. Serves 4.
- 6Store in an airtight jar in a cool dark cupboard for up to 9 months.
