Cheese and Chive Damper Rolls

Little damper-style rolls flecked with tasty cheese and chives. Great warm with soup or split and buttered at a barbecue.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 50 gram butter
  • 1 cup tasty cheese
  • 2 tablespoon chives
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking tray.
  2. 2Rub the butter into the flour and salt until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  3. 3Stir in most of the cheese and the chopped chives.
  4. 4Add the milk and mix into a soft dough.
  5. 5Shape the dough into 6 rolls and place them on the tray, just touching.
  6. 6Top with the remaining cheese and bake for 20 minutes until golden.
  7. 7Cool briefly on the tray, then serve warm.
