Everything you love about a cheeseburger stirred through macaroni, cooked in a single pot. Rich, cheesy and a guaranteed hit with kids.
Ingredients
- 500 gram beef mince
- 300 gram macaroni
- 1 piece brown onion
- 2 clove garlic
- 400 millilitre tomato passata
- 500 millilitre beef stock
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoon american mustard
- 1 1/2 cup tasty cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- 1Dice the onion and crush the garlic.
- 2Heat the oil in a large deep pot over medium-high heat. Cook the onion for 3 minutes until soft.
- 3Add the beef mince and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, breaking the mince up, until browned.
- 4Stir in the passata, stock, worcestershire sauce, mustard and dry macaroni.
- 5Bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 12 minutes with the lid off, stirring every few minutes so the pasta does not stick.
- 6Turn off the heat. Stir in 1 cup of the cheese until melted.
- 7Scatter the remaining cheese on top, pop the lid on for 1 minute to melt, then serve.
