A hearty and rich meat sauce served over pasta.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Ground Beef
- 1 large Onion
- 1 medium Carrot
- 2 stalks Celery
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 400 grams Canned Tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- 250 milliliters Beef Stock
- 125 milliliters Red Wine
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- to taste unit Salt
- to taste unit Black Pepper
- to serve unit Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
- 1Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.
- 2In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté until softened.
- 3Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking up any clumps with a spoon.
- 4Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes to enhance the flavor.
- 5Pour in the red wine and simmer until it has almost evaporated.
- 6Add the canned tomatoes and beef stock. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook uncovered for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 7Adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve the Bolognese over cooked pasta, garnish with Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
