Beef Bolognese

A hearty and rich meat sauce served over pasta.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground Beef
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 2 stalks Celery
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 400 grams Canned Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 250 milliliters Beef Stock
  • 125 milliliters Red Wine
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • to taste unit Salt
  • to taste unit Black Pepper
  • to serve unit Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. 1Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic.
  2. 2In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté until softened.
  3. 3Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking up any clumps with a spoon.
  4. 4Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes to enhance the flavor.
  5. 5Pour in the red wine and simmer until it has almost evaporated.
  6. 6Add the canned tomatoes and beef stock. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook uncovered for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7Adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve the Bolognese over cooked pasta, garnish with Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
