Sticky Sesame Tofu with Broccoli

Crispy tofu tossed in a glossy sesame-soy glaze with tender broccoli. Tastes like takeaway but ready in half an hour.
Ingredients
- 600 gram firm tofu, cubed
- 3 tablespoon cornflour
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 piece broccoli, cut into florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 3 cup steamed rice, to serve
Instructions
- 1Pat the tofu dry with paper towel and toss it in 2 tablespoons of the cornflour.
- 2Stir the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, garlic, remaining cornflour and 1/4 cup of water together in a small bowl.
- 3Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the tofu for 8 minutes, turning until golden all over.
- 4Meanwhile, steam the broccoli for 4 minutes until just tender.
- 5Pour the sauce into the pan with the tofu and stir for 2 minutes until it thickens and coats the tofu.
- 6Add the broccoli and toss to coat.
- 7Serve over rice, sprinkled with sesame seeds.
